Gerrit Cole Sweepstakes Continue To Grow

Updated: Nov 24, 2019

The Gerrit Cole saga is continuing to become more and more interesting as the MLB offseason continues. Cole, rejected the Astros one year 17.8 million dollar offer and is now on the market as a free agent. The big question is, where will he play next spring? There have been many teams interested in Cole after a breakout year, coming in second in the AL Cy Young Voting. Cole has commented on going back to the west coast where he grew up. The first big team that is interested in him are the Dodgers. Imagine a rotation of Walker Buehler, Gerrit Cole, and Clayton Kershaw, that would be amazing. Another team, would be the Angels. The Angels seem to be the more likely candidate to sign Cole, at least on the west coast. If the Angels want to win and win big they have to sign Cole. The final team and most obvious team in the conversation are the Yankees. The Yankees, can basically go after any big name player they want, their the New York Yankees. It will continue to be a developing story throughout the winter and heading into Spring Training. Whoever wins the Cole sweepstakes is guaranteed to have a true ace in their rotation.
