Adam Dawson's 2021 Rest of Season Fantasy Football Rankings

Introduction: The NFL season is more than halfway over which I cannot believe! Below, you will find my ROS (Rest of Season) Fantasy Football rankings. After each position, I will highlight a few players and what I expect from them for the rest of the year. My rankings will be based on the following criteria: Gut Instinct as well as my Common Sense. Also, I will include my biggest riser and faller from each position for the rest of the season.

When it comes to Strength of Schedule, the only position I use it for is quarterback, as you should go with who you want to play no matter what. Also, Kickers and defenses will not be included. With all of this out of the way, I present to you my Fantasy Football ROS Rankings. Let's roll!!!

Note: Before we start, these are just my predictions. No special powers were used in writing this post, as I just used my head. As a result, I have no idea if my rankings and predictions will be right by the end of the season. Of course these rankings are based on the PPR scoring format.

Quick Running Back Notes:

Biggest Riser ROS: Tony Pollard-DAL

Biggest Faller ROS: Zack Moss- BUF

The whole 49ers backfield was tough to rank. One week it could be Mitchell getting the carries, another week it could be Jeff Wilson Jr. getting most of the work, and so on and so forth. Granted, I get a running back could be injured for multiple weeks, but that whole backfield gives me a headache!!!

The handcuffs as a whole could gain value at any moment. Even if a particular one is not listed above, anyone could make an impact if a starter is out for any length of time.

Jonathan Taylor- IND: Has taken on the "Derrick Henry" role for running backs, as I expect him to be the best option at the position for the rest of the season.

Alvin Kamara- NO (Currently Out): Should be back and healthy during Week 12 or Week 13 and is always a must-start option when healthy. Expect him to continue to keep a supply of Air Heads, his favorite candy, on the sideline for a post-touchdown snack.

D'Andre Swift-DET: The lone, consistent option in the Detroit offense remains atop the ranks.

Saquon Barkley- NYG: Made out of glass for the first half of the season, hopefully he finishes strong.

Cordarrelle Patterson- ATL (Currently Out): Expect Patterson to return to form as Atlanta's MVP sooner rather than later. Lord knows Matt Ryan is not their MVP.

Antonio Gibson- WSH: Gibbie seemed to have seen his overall numbers come down a bit compared to last year, but expect solid and consistent production the rest of the way.

James Conner- ARI: I am down on him a bit because he is so touchdown dependent.

Myles Gaskin- MIA: Wins the Fantasy award for being the most inconsistent. Congratulations Myles!!!

Miles Sanders- PHI: Would be ranked higher if it were not for the running back mess in Philly.

Rhamondre Stevenson- NE: Keeps climbing the ranks each week, as you should gain more confidence in him as well.

Tony Pollard- DAL: More effective than Elliott half the time.

Chase Edmonds-ARI (Currently Out): Look for Edmonds stock to rise when he returns from IR in a few weeks.

Michael Carter- NYJ (Currently Out): Should be back in a few weeks, as he seemed to have gotten on a role prior to getting hurt.

Mark Ingram-NO: Great handcuff when Kamara is out.

Jeff Wilson Jr.-SF: Who knows, at this point he may see his stock rise if Elijah Mitchell remains out for the foreseeable future.

Chris Carson-SEA: I can always count on Carson to fill an IR spot on my team, he never disappoints!

Wide Receivers:

Cooper Kupp-LAR

Davante Adams-GB

Tyreek Hill-KC

Justin Jefferson-MIN

Emmanuel Sanders-BUF

Michael Gallup-DAL

Cole Beasley- BUF

Corey Davis- NYJ

Van Jefferson- LAR

Christian Kirk-ARI

Jakobi Meyers- NE

Marvin Jones Jr.-JAX

Quick Wide Receiver Notes:

Biggest Riser ROS: DeVonta Smith- PHI

Biggest Faller ROS: Courtland Sutton- DEN

I am lower on Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson and Ravens receiver Marquise Brown than the overall consensus.

Diontae Johnson is great, I would just rather have the players listed above him in my rankings instead.

Marquise "Hollywood" Brown seems like a "Boom or Bust" type of player, much like Henry Ruggs was before he went to prison, although Brown had a lot more upside than Ruggs to begin with. These "Boom or Bust" players I tend to stay away from, as they are risky to play from week to week. The most points Hollywood has put up in a game this season has been 24.7 in PPR formats, while his lowest was 3.5.

DeAndre Hopkins- ARI: DHop's health has prevented me from ranking him any higher which I hate doing.

DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have been inconsistent because of Seattle's quarterback situation this season. Russell Wilson needs to get healthy rather quickly for the duo's stock to rise back up to normal, consistent production.

Elijah Moore-NYJ: The Ole Miss product has come on strong as the season has gone on. Moore was my favorite rookie receiver headed into the year.

Rashod Bateman- BAL: Bateman's stock continues to rise for me, as I love having him as a bench player.

Allen Robinson-CHI: Even though he is not listed, Allen Robinson seems like he left the country and never came back. His production this year has been awful.

Finally, the Bengals receiving core needs more attention(Chase, Higgins, Boyd) as they are one of the most complete pass-catching units in the game.

Quarterbacks:

Josh Allen-BUF

Lamar Jackson-BAL

Tom Brady-TB

Patrick Mahomes-KC

Kyler Murray-ARI

Dak Prescott-DAL

Matthew Stafford-LAR

Justin Herbert-LAC

Jalen Hurts-PHI

Aaron Rodgers-GB

Joe Burrow-CIN

Russell Wilson- SEA

Kirk Cousins- MIN

Derek Carr- LV

Carson Wentz-IND

Ryan Tannehill-TEN

Cam Newton- CAR

Quick Quarterback Notes:

Biggest Riser ROS: Derek Carr- LV

Biggest Faller ROS: Ryan Tannehill-TEN

Jalen Hurts-PHI: Has a great schedule of games left on the slate and should be a top-tier, reliable option the rest of the way.

Justin Herbert- LAC: While my Dad says he is "awful and overrated" I disagree completely with his view and often say he is simply awesome! Herbie should have a great rest of the season, as he is one of the best young gunslingers in the game.... trust me.

Aaron Rodgers-GB: Received a bit of drop in my rankings because of a lingering toe injury. Of course, I still consider him a safe play, but if you have a better option for the given week, I would consider benching Rodgers.

Kirk Cousins- MIN: Captain Kirk is quietly having himself a solid season, except nobody seems to pay much attention. He would be a great second option for the few bye weeks that remain.

Cam Newton- CAR: "I'm Baaaacckkkk!!!" Yes, we know Cam and his minty blue gum is back in a Panthers uniform. Boy did I miss Cam.... I am of course kidding.

Cam Is Back

Tight Ends:

Travis Kelce-KC

Darren Waller-LV

George Kittle-SF

Mark Andrews-BAL

Kyle Pitts- ATL

T.J. Hockeson-DET

Mike Gesicki- MIA

Dallas Goedert- PHI

Dawson Knox- BUF

Pat Freiermuth-PIT

Dalton Schultz- DAL

Noah Fant-DEN

Zach Ertz-ARI

Tyler Higbee-LAR

Dan Arnold-JAX

Tyler Conklin- MIN

Rob Gronkowski-TB

Jared Cook-LAC

C.J. Uzomah- CIN

Evan Engram-NYG

Quick Tight End Notes:

Biggest Riser ROS: Pat Freiermuth- PIT

Biggest Faller ROS: Dalton Schultz-DAL

Kelce, Waller, and Kittle remain elite options for the rest of the year.... obviously.

Pat Freiermuth-PIT: Has become one of Big Ben's top targets, as I like him a lot for the remaining weeks.

Dan Arnold-JAX: Can lead his team in targets one week and disappear the next. Arnold is a guy I want to like, but not quite there yet. Maybe the injury to receiver Jamal Agnew will open up more opportunities.

Tyler Conklin-MIN: My faith in Conklin continues to grow a little bit each week.

Jared Cook-LAC: Cook is a veteran at this point in his career having played with the Rams and Titans previously. Herbert looks to target him every so often in a great offense. His stock could rise, as he would add more depth to the rather shallow position in fantasy land.

Subscriber Note: If you want, feel free to subscribe to my blog for free on my Home or Blog page, as this is completely up to you. I wish there was some sort of "Subscribe" button to insert into my posts, as the majority of people just click on my individual post and never go to my home page and never see the subscribe box. As a result, this is completely my fault, as I intend to let people know from here on out at the bottom of each post how to subscribe if they want to do so. As always, anyone who reads my posts and takes time out of their day to read them are awesome, as I cannot put into words of how much your support means to me!

Final Thoughts: I hope you all have enjoyed reading my ROS Fantasy Football Rankings. Hopefully, some of my predictions will come true and we will all finish strong as we near the end of the fantasy season.

See you at the Ballpark!!!

Adam
